During a visit to Seattle we happen to come across Optimism Brewery located on Broadway and E. Union St. Parking can be difficult but we did notice a garage near by. We happen to be on bikes and noticed an abundance of bike parking with secure areas to lock up.
The building is huge and the process to get a beer is pretty much standard. You enter a roped area like a Disney ride and once at the counter you order the beer you would like to drink. The tap list is on a big screen with details about each beer available. The tap list changes often and usually caters to a wide palette. Once you order you can go grab a seat with plenty of options available.
Optimism Brewery is kid and dog friendly with a play area for kids. We also noticed a large outdoor courtyard, after inquiring we found out the area host food trucks on busy nights. Note this is strictly a tasting room which means no food is served. However, you can bring food in, order food for delivery to the brewery and if you happen to be there on food truck night you can order from the truck.
During our visit to Seattle this independently, locally owned brewery became a favorite for us. Especially because of the ever changing tap list and the ability to bring food in from one of the fine establishments within walking distance.
